Mid Semester Estimates

It's half way through the semester already!  How are things going?  Do you have a class that you are concerned about and are considering withdrawing from?  Are you worried about your GPA?

Mid semester estimates are now being posted by faculty on myRedDragon.  You will not receive a paper copy of your midterm grades in the mail.  You are responsible for logging into myRedDragon to check your grades.

Mid semester estimates can be found under the Registrar channel on the left hand side of your student tab.  When you check your mid semester estimates you will see on of three letters indicating your performance:
"S"  = Satisfactory
"U" = Unsatisfactory
"F" = Failing

If you see an "NR" that means that your instructor didn't submit a grade in time to meet the deadline.  Make sure to ask your professor if this happens.

If you have received an unsatisfactory grade and are concerned about it, make an appointment to see your professor or seek help through ASAP.

Have You Sent Your Final Transcript?

We hope that you enjoyed your Transition Seminar and are looking forward to your Cortland experience!

It is a good idea to review your transfer credit before the start of the fall semester.  Updates to your credit evaluation and CAPP may have occurred.  You can “generate a new evaluation” of CAPP from your “Student” tab in myRedDragon to view any updates.   You can also view your “Academic Transcript” in the “Registrar” box on your “Student” tab for a simplified list of transfer credit awarded.

If you have not yet requested official transcripts to be sent to SUNY Cortland that reflect your spring 2012 grades, you should do so as soon as possible.    Transfer credit can impact not only your required courses but also your time-ticket to register for spring courses.  October 1 is the deadline to receive transcripts to affect time-tickets for spring registration.  Time-tickets (the specific time that you will be eligible to register for your spring courses) are issued based on total number of credits completed, including transfer credits.  Transfer credit will be posted after October 1, but the credit will not allow for an earlier registration time-ticket.

Information on how to request transcripts can be found at:
http://www2.cortland.edu/offices/advisement-and-transition/transfer-credit-services/new-students/requesting-transcripts.dot

Questions regarding transfer credit?  Contact the Advisement and Transition Office at 607-753-4726, advisement@cortland.edu, or stop by our office, Memorial Library, A-111, when you return in August.
